Continuous Integration for Reporting Services

Speaker: Nat Sundar

Registration URL: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4929955412305620737

Developing a Report with Reporting Services is easy. But how can we deliver consistent and bug free Report in a short turnaround. Continuous Integration help us to Build, Unit Test and Deploy the components as we develop. It helps the Developers, DBAs, Test Engineers and the Release Managers.

Continuous Integration:

With the help of CI tools , we can build the Report files (.RDL) from Source control (Perforce, SVN, etc). However writing Unit test cases for Reports requires little thoughts. Once the test development has completed, this also need to be build and integrated with the CI tools for automatic runs.

Also the Reports, Datasets and the Datasources have to be deployed to a Test environment. With the help of CI tools the deployment process can be automated as well.

In this Demo Rich session, I will walkthrough the best practices around the Development, Build, Unit Test case and Deployment.

Intro to R

Speaker: Stephanie Locke

Registration URL: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1369177110122021121

R, the statistical programming language, is another open-source program making inroads into the Microsoft world.

R was originally for doing stats, but it now does database CRUD, reporting, documentation, and even websites. It can be awkward to know where to start, so this session fast tracks you to the sections you need to know about to save yourself pains you didn't even know you had.
